This is something hard to explain and you really need to witness it to understand how it works. Basically, there is the client, the horse and me in a round pen. I ask the client to do some simple tasks with the horse and, in that process, the horses's reaction and body language can show me some of the client's problems or fears or sometimes deep parts of them that they don't know about themselves.
Horses connect with us spiritually in really deep, amazing ways and by allowing a horse into your space and heart, the horse in return will teach you great wisdoms about yourself which in turn help you to heal and grow into who you truly are.
Many horse therapy sessions bring the tears flowing and it truly reaches deep into your soul, to a depth you never would have believed.

This is Jessie, a lady from America, having a horse therapy session with Oaky, my New Forest stallion. |

We were working on opening her energies through her chakras and helping her centre her emotions.
Jessie was nervous to begin with, especially riding without a saddle. But, as you can see here, she soon relaxed and began to trust Oaky at which point the energy work had worked. |

Two friends came to visit me at Middle Earth just as I was finishing trimming Tanka's hooves. They were sat under an oak tree in the shade and I brought her over to say hello and an impromptu horse therapy session happened... |

One friend had a cuddle while Tanka was still online but then I took the halter off her so she was free to wander off and she decided she wanted to have a chat with my friends. |

She started to give lots of love and this particular friend who is not a horse woman felt safe enough to be sat underneath Tanka and receive her love. |

Even more love! |

Then Tanka went to my other friend, not wanting to leave her out, and gave her lots of love too. |

Kisses all round! |
